So put some Restor-A-Finish on your fingers and tell us if it feels oily and slippery like mineral oil! Then put some on one of your benches and wipe that off as directed. Does that feel oily and slippery too?

I don't think that you've hijacked the thread but have offered some useful input about Restor-A-Finish.

You did not hijack the conversation. I appreciate your thoughts and they are very consistent with my experience. The benches were wiped down with Restore-A-Finish two weeks ago and I am hoping that they have had ample time to dry as I will be spraying on varnish this weekend as an experiment. As I stated earlier I will let you all know about the result.
