My old chisels

About to embark on tuning up my grandfathers old chisels. I am guessing they date between the mid 20's's and late 50's.
All are socket. Many very abused but I got handles on them. Looking them up, seems they all may be pretty good tools

CE Jennings
Pine Knot
Stanley
TH Witherby
Sharpleigh
Simmins
And "The Sar...? USA "

About half are long paring pattern. The Sharpley is a really hefty thick "carpenters" job.

Any wisdom on these? Wondering how they compare to my old Sheffield Marples yellow handle set circa late 70's.

I think I found that Keen Kutter, and Simmons were Sharpleigh. ( Somewhere I have a Keen Kutter something)

I think the main issue is going to be the steel. It think what we have now is better than the really old tools, isn't it?

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to get the backs flattened and see how they do.

Well, HF proves all new steel is not good :)

Yea, I did by a Nalex Richter, and yea, it seems to hold up better than my Marples.
