I am no turner by any means on the level of some of the talented people here.
However, I turned this miniature goblet from a chunk of purple heart I happened to find in the free scrap bin at the Hardwood Store in Gibsonville.
Turned on a Wen Tool 8x12 benchtop lathe with Harbor Freight lathe chisels. Sanded and polished with beeswax.
I am primarily a scroller but, it is fun to hop on the lathe from time to time for a change in pace and skill

Looks good, sir. I wont call myself a 'turner' but I'm learning. Have done some projects that turned out nice anyway. Should be taking delivery on a nice scroll saw this weekend so will be dipping my toes in those waters as well.
Some advice on your turning from someone who has and continues to make mistakes... when budget allows, I would consider a decent bowl gouge and a sharpening system. A good REPEATABLE grind on tools (especially a bowl gouge) has been a game changer for me and has upped the fun factor of turning exponentially.

Just saw your vid on the pallet wood goblet. As someone who is always on the hunt for turning wood, I liked how it turned out and simutaneously cringed at the number of pallets I've thrown in the burn pit over the years.
