3 1/2" H with lid, 6" diameter, 242 pieces. Waiting on lid to to turn a little more purple before applying shellac and rattle can polyurethane.

Nice bowl. I've never worked purple heart but I thought it tended to turn towards the brown spectrum with exposure to UV llight, not the other way around.

Very nicely done. The top really sets it off.

Purpleheart will turn darker towards a brownish color as it ages, but still a very pretty wood. Contrasts well with the Maple.

the fresh cuts tend to be tan/grey spectrum, and it only takes a a couple of days for it to start turning purple. Long term, unsealed, it will turn brown. You can see the difference in the lid and the base in the last photo. The lid was turned last night, the base was last weekend, and finished Wednesday evening.
