This year Triangle Woodworkers Association will be making over 4000 wooden toys that will be donated to the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program. My part is making about 150 toy truck beds with headboards like this:
I am sharing my methodology in case there is an idea someone can use. Making ten at a time starts with a triangular dado almost all the way through the rectangular blanks.
The dados are cut on a tablesaw with a box joint blade set and a custom made sled.
Next is wetting the walnut on the outside of where it will be folded.
A small bead of Titebond III is applied to the joint,
Ten at a time, the stock is folded and clamped at 90 degrees in this simple fixture ( which is held in a high vise of course)
Wait 30 minutes, rinse and repeat.
Hmmm…. I did not get the opportunity to preview the post. Where did that button go?
