I need some recommendations for a place to stop for lunch on the crawl on saturday 9/27! Come on some one has to know of a good place for 20-30 people to eat between Garner, F-V, and Clayton!

Doug,

There is a newer Golden Coral in Fuquay.
There is a Smithfield BBQ on 401 & Ten Ten on the outskirts of Fuquay
There is the new Cleveland Brewing Co on 42 between Fuquay & Clayton
There is the Garner Ale house in Garner on 70

Give me a while and I'll think of a few more

Oh wait! There is the hot dog cart outside the Lowes in Clayton!

There is a decent Chinese buffet in the same center as Home Depot in F-V. There is also a sandwich shop and a Cici's there IIRC.

How 'bout McCall's BBQ in/near Garner. I think that it has reopened after the plane crash of a yr or so ago.

Where 55 parallels the retail district with the tracks between them in Fuquay, there are a *bunch* of choices, probably over a dozen. At least a couple have already been mentioned. I would suggest that area be where lunch is so that everyone doesn't have to agree on a single cuisine. If we try to go one place as a large group, that could take a big chunk of time out of an already hectic schedule. If we do that, I will be kind of torn beween heading over to the Chinese trough with the Big Dog or going to the Mexican place near the dollar store. :)

It has been reopened, but it is in Clayton not Garner.

In the area I live in, I40 & 42, there are several places to eat.
Actually, any kind of food you want is in this area.

Smithfield Chicken & BB-Q or Golden Corral could probably handle
a bunch of hungry guys easier than the others.

I like it all so it makes me no difference.

I'm keeping my opinion out of it, but I think that the lunch break will be right after a Fuquay shop, if my guess is correct, so I would probably say that we should go somewhere in Fuquay.

Jimmy:mrgreen:

ps. unless people want beer, then maybe the Cleveland Ale House, the food is just okay there.

Fuquay?????? Eat in Fuquay????? I think not. :)

Seriously, I have no opinion. I haven't been to Fuquay in years.

There used to be an incredible homestyle buffet in Garner/S Raleigh, near the intersection of Tryon Road and Hwy 70...
