I have a Delta 18" bandsaw model 28-682. I've never been very happy with the guides and would like to upgrade them. I'm having trouble finding upgraded guides available for that size and model bandsaw. Any tips from the experts here?

Carter was the first place I looked, and no luck there.

Just curious, what problems are you experiencing with your current guides?

Long time favorites of the pros:

Paddock guides
Wright guides

They're likely to cost more than that model band saw is worth.
That's a pretty common style Asian import 18" band saw. Maybe other sellers of that style saw have more interesting guides.

I replaced the guides on my Jet 18” with Carter guides. They are far superior to the stock guides and are direct fit. One of the decisions I have made for equipment.

There's not a lot of room under the table for a good set of lower guides and the factory ones are pretty sorry to begin with.
Just so the readers know what you're trying to replace:

My recommendation on anything delta bandsaw is to call iturra. They don't have an online presence just a snailmail catalog. But they're very helpful over the phone.

I second Louis Iturra. He's forgot more about Delta bandsaw than most people know. And he loves to talk. I bought several items from him, plus get his catalog, itsa wealth of info.

Thank you for the recommendation! I’ll give them a call!
You're welcome. No idea how I found it about them the first time but grateful for whoever it was.

I made it a goal last month to finally make my older 14" worth using since it had largely sat unused since I purchased it and threw a couple iturra parts in it a few years ago. I disassembled the whole thing, found some broken and damaged components and called iturra. a link belt, new wheel bearings, tension arm, parallel shims, new blade and voila! From an angry beaver to a saw that leaves a perfect surface right from resaw.
