Just a simple segmented pen

It's been a while since I've done any segmenting and probably even longer since I've done anything wood. I've been doing full custom "kitless" pens with vintage materials for so long it was nice to just slow down and put together a simple kit pen again for a break.

This is blue and white alumilite resin with redwood lace burl and some white/black/white pick guard material to offset the main segments.

Thanks everyone :)

I'm trying to decide if I want to make the negative of that one with the material left. Have the wood on the book ends and the resin in the middle. Not sure it would have the same impact.

Go for it, Carl. With them side by side, they may make a beautiful couple.

I just came back to look at this again...and finally caught the pick guard pieces as separators. I was so busy admiring the pen the first time, I guess I skimmed the reading portion. Very creative.
