I do not know if holly turns well, but I have some cut off pieces of the log. If anyone wants any just call 5.00 per piece

It turns very well; you don't even need a lathe - it will twist up all by itself. :rolf:

If you don't get some takers, you might seal the end grain and then leave them on the ground a few weeks and spalt them; that can be very nice stuff.

Yes it does turn well.

The difficulty with holly is that it does spalt quite easily (or turns a dingy grey color) when it is cut wet. The real trick with holly for turning is to have it cut when there is little sap in the tree and get the rest of the moisture out as quickly as possible so that it stays pristine and white long after it is turned. If there is moisture left in the piece, it will turn grey over time.
