I cut this picture for the challenge. Now I need to figure out how to market it. Should I simply back it? Back it with a slightly larger piece of wood? I don't like it framed. Suggestions please!

I like to put backing on my pieces like that. I use flat black for 95% of those. For that piece I would use a backing the same size and shape at the project. When I want an over sized backer I set my piece on a piece of Baltic birch plywood and trace around it with my pencil in a fender washer. I have a collection of various size washers just for that purpose.

Cathy, you might consider using a natural edge piece for the backer. I think Klingspor might have some of those in the Raleigh store but I'm not sure.

Scott's suggestions are also very good. I do think a backer of some sort would look good with it.

Very nice piece, BTW.

I'm voting that would make a beautiful night light if it were back lit....it looks awesome already by the way!
