The GUAYACÁN head is the piece left over after making the ice cream scoop. It started out as a 2X2" stub from the 12" stick. The Bocote was a 1X1X12" ($2.49 at Woodcraft).

This could be a gavel, or a high end kitchen mallet for tenderizing a pork chop, or breaking up a bag of ice. The GUAYACÁN has enough weight (1.18 specific gravity) that it gives it good balance. total length is 11" to the end of the little 'eye' at the end of the handle.

Polished to 2000 grit (both directions). The head has no finish on it. The handle has HUT Crystal Coat on it.
