Works now. Using lumber like this also qualifies some builders' projects for LEED certification.

Dennis, I used to think that too but recently found out that recycled lumber is considered to be a "newly manufactured product" under LEED, and does not qualify towards certification.

This information came straight from a NCDENR representative regarding one of their LEED certified projects.

Working in commercial construction I am often responsible for clear cutting parcels to build multi - story office buildings (not much of that lately...). The most cost effective buyers were either pulpwood or pallet operations and they made you feel they were doing you a favor keeping the wood out of the tub grinder as mulch or chipper for brick kiln fuel.
