Has anyone had any success gluing raw wood to another piece that has already been stained with oil based stain? If so, what process and/or products did you use?

Lacquer thinner to clean the wood. Then sand the area. Sometimes a heat gun can bring out any old left over oils. Gently of course.

I use acetone to clean off the stain, and lightly sand that usually fixes my problems with that sort of thing. In its straight form its a little stronger than lacquer thinner.
