Mike invest in a Merle Clamp from MLCS. great for squaring up miters on boxes and picture frames. Thats of course afteryou tune up your saw

Do you have a stationary belt sander?
Yes, but my "shop" is in my garage, and I can't get to the sander. My goal for today is to start getting some things organized and thrown. I've been having back trouble that has kept me from overdoing too much physically.

Back in the eighties, I owned a picture framing shop. We had a Morse chopper. The miters we made were perfect every time. The tool is amazing. I wish I still had it.

What is a Morse chopper? I searched online and can't find one. Thanks.

Right. Morso, not Morse. It was a long time ago. You can speed up the process by pre-cutting the molding to an appropriate length and using the chopper to do just the miter.
