Finish for jenga game

I am building 3 large sized jenga games for family members. Each block is 1 1/2" X 3 1/2" X 10 1/2" (cypress). I will have to finish 162 pieces. My original plan was to put waterlox on, then a paste wax, but was wondering if there was a finish that would give a slick feel without all the steps. Something with wax in the finish??

For those that do not know what a Jenga game is, it is the game where you stack up blocks of wood, three one direction and the next three at a 90 degree turn. You then take turns pushing out a block of wood until the tower falls. It needs to have a slick finish IMO.

Maybe you don't need a "slick, waxed finish" with blocks that large. I found a few ideas similar to your question.
