Equal spacing tool?

Do you know where to get a high quality version of a tool similar to this?
I bought this and I have to send it back, it is junk. The rivets are too small for the holes and move around a lot causing the divisions to vary a lot.

I need one that is quite accurate.

I have close to 30 dividers and use them regularly. Haven't tried the sector yet.
I was looking to have a tool that adjusts to any length up to 24 inches and automatically
sets the divisions without extra fiddling.
Sometimes I may see that say 9 divisions would look better than 7.
But usually after I have drilled holes or made cuts.
Would be nice to just stretch it out and see instantly.

Here's a better video explaining how to use a cabinet maker's sector:

. Basically, you use the sector and the distance to divide in order to set the dividers.

Got it. How long is that? Is there a scale to check for accuracy?

SketchUp has a feature that does this automatically for you. Just enter the overall length and how many times you want it divided. Then use the measure tool to see the distance between each point.
