I recently had an issue with rotating the cutters on my shelix. I posted the issue here and received advice on how to correct it.

I had also posted an e-mail to Byrd Tools and just received the attached pdf on how to properly seat the cutters plus some other useful info.

Yes...all good. Thanks
The problem you were having was the inserts not seating properly or were you just concerned when installing them that the holes didn't seem to line up as they pointed out in the e-mail? (I missed your original post / question)

AH!
I just searched and found this: Help w/Byrd Cutters- UPDATE
So the assumption is that poorly seated cutters create the ridges, I am surprised inserts didn't break (if they weren't seated properly...)
Hank,
I only ran a couple of cherry boards through and then stopped. See the pdf article I received from Byrd. It explains the various problems caused by ill seated cutters.
