Drill Press Storage Cabinet

I needed to gather all my drill bits in one location and get them off the horizontal surface of my work bench. On a shop crawl years ago I saw Jeremy Scuteri's cabinet and loved the design. I still have pictures of that cabinet so I used that design as my model. I had casters on hand so I started the design with enough clearance on the back and bottom to roll over the mobil base of my drill press. I built up from there. The drawers are all dovetail (made with my Shaper Origin). Drawer slides are wood. The bit storage is self-designed on my 3D printer with 2 colors so the bit sizes could be easily read. The red case was degrading and breaking down. The case had number bits, letter bits, and fractional bits, 115 total. The 3D printed holders are slid onto a 3/8" wood dowel and can be lifted off and carried to the bench if necessary.

Not only is it beautiful Michael, but it is incredvery practical to use that dead space under your drill press. I appreciate that you have very cleverly integrated 3D printing into your build
