Moving and need to sell my woodworking machines. Offered here is a Delta Model 28-245 14” Band Saw, including an open stand, 1/2 hp motor, mobile base, lamp attachment, rip fence, extra blade and Owner’s Manual. I purchased this machine new in November, 1995, and it has always been located in a climate controlled shop. It is also fitted with a Delta height attachment accessory. In good working condition. Asking $250.00 cash. I don’t do electronic payments. You will need to pick it up at my shop in Pittsboro. Thanks for any help you can provide as I clear out my shop!

I’m interested. Does the saw come off the base for transport? Or can the whole thing be laid down in the bed of a truck? I don’t have trailer right now.

There are 4 bolts holding the saw to the stand. You would also have to remove the drive belt between the motor and saw’s drive shaft. It’s about 64” tall on the stand

(I got a real deal on a similar saw (28-275) about 20 years ago and I think I just put down two layers of furniture blanket in the truck bed and carefully laid the saw down on its back in the bed. I strapped it in with ratchet straps as well. I was only moving from Apex to Cary - about 5 miles. $125 as it was claimed to have a bad motor. Plugged it in and nothing. Hit the reset button on the motor and it has been humming ever since!)

Charles, I will be glad to help remove the mobile base and lift the saw into your truck. I also have some furniture moving pads you can use to protect the saw as you take it from Pittsboro to Apex.

Also a good idea to take off the blade tensioner crank when moving this model flat in a truck bed. Ask me how I know.

I've loved my less-than-gently-used one for the 5 years I've had it. Replaced just about everything with Iterra parts but she hums.

Hello Dan, and thanks for your interest in the bandsaw. Just wanted to let you know that another NCWW Member has also expressed interest in the bandsaw, and he indicated that he will come by to look it over either tonight or tomorrow after work. Since he was the first to respond to my listing, I feel it is only fair to give him that opportunity. But if he does not come by, or if he decides not to buy it, I will be glad to sell it to you. I will keep you advised. Again, thanks for your interest.

Oh well.
I've been looking for a Delta 14" with the riser extension for the last year. Yours looked exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately I hadn't checked the for sale forum for a week.
Thanks

Daniel,

PM me. I am building two 14” deltas right now and will be selling one. Not this cheap, but its a vintage wood and metal saw. If you’d want it, Im happy to spec it to your taste.
