cold milling

Gonna be sawmilling a customer's logs in a couple of weeks. Been waiting for a good warm spell, Fella's putting up siding for a barn.. Some logs are 14" dia. pine and some 20" oak. Only a couple are on the ground,..Cut last November. So I have a couple of questions: how long does it take for a log to thaw out - enuff - from being frozen, to mill? ..and assuming a log is still somewhat frozen inside, what would be a good hook angle [blade] to use. And anyone have a preference for blade brands [am using woodmizer LT35]
