I was watching some woodturning videos online today and noticed how their chuck jaws just slid in and out with ease. So i thought "why doesnt mine do that:eusa_thin". I went out to the shop and after thorough investigation i discovered that the problem was there was dust in between the chuck jaws and the base jaws. After taking the jaws off and cleaning them all of carefully i lubricated the scroll, and now the chuck spins freely and easily and can grip wood exactly like i could when i first got it:icon_thum:icon_thum! The moral of the story is having clean tools is always the best.:wsmile:

Patrick you are right, it pays to keep them clean, I do that on a regular basis to all 7 of my chucks and I do the same to all my motors and bandsaw bearings and any other part that moves, they all will work better and longer it they get a good cleaning and lubricating on a regular basis, aloha.
