Below are some pictures of a chair that is in need of repair. This is located in the Greensboro area. I can’t answer your questions because I’m posting this for someone else and I have not seen the chair myself. I can provide contact information for the owner.

I’m not a chair maker but it sure looks like that leg assembly went through a glue line where 2 boards were joined to form the seat. Looks like the adhesive failed and didn’t tear up any of the wood. Might just fit back together like a jigsaw puzzle.

Who made the chair? I think I would contact the maker for a replacement. Would be tough to make a warranted repair.

You want to know how to fix it? For any moderately knowledgeable shop, the repair would be easy.

Start by regluing the seat. You will need to make some clamping cauls that conform to the curve so you can clamp straight across. Line with sandpaper to prevent slipping.

After that, its just a little up flex on the arm, insert spindles. Same with leg stretchers.

Make sure any dried glue and/or finish is scraped off the joints.

Looks like a factory made chair. Seat joint lines up with leg holes.
That seat will need dowels to add strength especially around the legs.
Looks like one back spindle is damaged.
This is not a repair I would like to be involved with.

How much are they willing to spend on a repair?

Wasnt so bad! Chair made by Harden furniture from Syracuse NY. had a failed glue joint made worse by having the leg hole go through it. Looked like the glue joint had a glue starvation problem. A few dominos and that joint wont fail again!. I had to make 4 new spindles, 2 of which were wedged at both ends. Sat my 200# butt in it and it seems as good as new. Time will tell!.
