Thank you so much everyone for all of your kind thoughts and prayers.
A little background.
Amy (our youngest of 4 daughters) was taken to the ER a week ago yesterday with a severe cough and coughing up blood. The staff performed xrays and a CT scan and detected a small lesion of some sort on one lung. By Sunday she was fine and released from the hospital with a follow up appointment with a pulmonary specialist. Not knowing the nature of the lesion, the doctor ordered a PET scan for the following Friday (yesterday).
Unfortunately, the coughing and bleeding returned on Wednesday evening. Off to the ER once more. More xrays and she was admitted once more. Her PET scan was moved up to Thurs.. Everything came back negative as to any form of cancer. (Amy is only 21 YO.) Yesterday a bronchoscopy was performed, again with inconclusive results. She was released from the hospital last evening and feeling fine again.
While performing the bronchoscopy, tissue samples were removed for a biopsy to be performed early next week.
It is our hope that something more definitive will be found next week and a treatment plan developed.
Again. Thanks so much for your prayers. Needless to say, it has been worrisome.
