Steve, Not owning a lathe, I had no idea what a banjo is. It was interesting that you were able to diagnose the problem and fix it. This brings to mind the question of how does a person without some mechanical ability survive in the woodshop. It seems there is always something that needs fixing or adjusting and I can't imagine what it would be like to have to call for help every time something didn't work.
Perhaps people without some ability are not drawn to woodworking?
