I know that there are folks on this site that also are into archery.
I'm in need of some advice/help from those good people.

I once was into archery big time. Over the years I lost the desire and
sold all my stuff. I now find that I would like to get back into the
game just for the fun of it. No hunting, just target and low draw weight
as I'm 65 and not as strong as a younger me. I'm very surprised at the
price increases in equipment now vs back when.

Has anyone of you ever had any experience with P.S.E. (Precision Shooting
Equipment). They seem to make a modestly priced, good looking re-curve bow.
At one time, I had a Fred Bear bow but find they are way too expensive now.

Where can I find reviews of archery equipment.

Thanks for any and all help/opinions.

I guess I forgot to mention that I'm LEFT HANDED so, any offers to sell
me your equipment will not be considered unless it, too, is LEFT HANDED.

Thanks,

I am not an archer, but a quick search on Google, using archery equipment review turned this up: Archery Equipment review.

If you do the same, you may find results more tailored to your interests. Good luck!

hi Archie,
Glad to hear you're looking for a re-curve and not one of them pulley-laden toys. I still have my Dad's Bear bow, but miss using it.

I just wanted to throw a couple cents in - if you take Hwy 301 south to Dunn, NC there's a fairly large independent looking Archery shop there. I've been meaning to stop in, but it's always late Sunday afternoon when I'm in the area.

Just thought you'd like to know.

I really appreciate that information. Looks like a trip in the planning for me.
Is it right on 301? What is the name?

You should get you dad's bow out of the closet and start shooting again.

I don't know what possessed me to ever sell mine, but, we have lapses
in good sense at times.

I just don't think the contraptions with all the pulleys are for me. I like
simple. Besides, they don't even resemble bows as far as I'm concerned.
Cant beat the beauty and grace of a well well made re-curve bow or, for
that matter, a long bow.

Thanks again Don,

I don't know about recurves, but I have a PSE compound I bought in the mid to late 80's, still a great bow. I haven't shot it in years, more years then I care to count. But I loved the bow. I've been thinking it's time to get it restrung and start shooting again, but no where really, that I know of to shoot.

BTW there's a new archery shop in Sanford also, right on Highway 1 as you go through Sanford.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for the tip about the shop in Sanford.

You should get your bow tuned up and start shooting again. You don't
need a lot of room to shoot. Besides, it is a lot of fun.

Thanks again for the tip.
