anyone have a dewalt D264xx random orbit sander

recently bought a refurb off tooliday

speed control appears to do nothing, & sound pitch of motor does not change when i adjust speed

since the adjustment is for orbits-per-min instead of revolutions-per-min,

i'm not really sure if i should notice a difference or not

i've never owned a opm adjustable tool

wonder if someone else who owns the sander notices any change when adjusting speed
