Found these today in a local antique shop - all for 20% off their prices. Total cost was just $61 OTD. The marking gauge looks like it’s made of ebony(?)...

Yeah, it’s a pretty marker and will be useful for large joinery.

Those planes are sharp but a bugger to set - any advice on how it’s best done? Trial and error, I’m sure...

Pretty good explanation by the English Woodworker, since you have a paired Hollow and Round set, I'd use the back of the plane for raising the blade versus the top as he shows. I have a small plane hammer from Lee Valley that I use with my hollows and rounds.
Wow! Thanks for the reference. One of these planes has a Moulson Bros blade made of Cast Sheffield Steel. The other has no marks but sharpened up fine.

I got to work honing the blades first and had my first plane setup in 5 minutes! Shaving like a pro now as these will alleviate making round overs using the router - if I can get any good at using them! I’m trying to incorporate more hand tools into my builds...

Quite a deal there for some really nice tools, I'm jealous :)
Those planes took some time to sharpen and adjust to make usable - thought they were a mistake to buy at first but will add some nice hand done roundover planing versus using the router. Still looking for a pair of matching left and right hollow/round planes to try on moulding...pricey stuff.
