My woodturning club in Columbia, SC has openings for an upcoming all-day class. The club has a dozen lathes that get set up for the hands-on class and we all help with cleanup at the end of the day. Here are the details:
The class is held at Mann Tools/Rockler Woodworking at 802 Chris Dr, West Columbia, SC 29169. You pay when you get there.
Richard will give a Hands-on Class (HOC) on August 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]. Richard will be sharing with us the skills to turn and make a hollow spiraling form vase. Also, if there is time he will share with you how to make his Christmas Ornament. The class cost will be $50.00 and paid directly to Richard and will include your wood.
Below are the tools to bring and if you do not have one Richard will have some for sharing (ArborTech, Merlin or Proxxon types):
Tools Required to bring:
· Tool for cutting 3/16 to ¼ inch slots
· 7/32 inch Chainsaw file or ¼ inch rat tail file
· 80 and 120 grit sandpaper
· Small sanding mop & drill
· 1 ¾ inch forsner bit
· Hollowing tools
· Other standard turning tools
