a little Christmas try...

It’s not rocket science. Two pieces of wood. Around 1/2 inch thick. Over an inch wide. Two parallel holes for bolts, washers and wing nuts. Drill the holes far enough apart so they will not interfere with your ornament, leave some extra room. The second one with the cut away is what I use for extra tiny stuff. Extra big stuff, I just put all the ornament pieces back together and add some packing tape. Be careful with that because sawdust CAN and WILL get under the tape and obscure the pattern line. The bolts on my large one is about 5 1/2 inches on center. I have a few different ones. I made them when I was teaching. BTW you do NOT need 6 inch bolts.

Thanks @Berta I did now what they are and how they are made.
I guess I wasn't clear, what I was looking for is more "Artwork" to put into the article, but the hows and whys and the additional information on how you use them and what to watch out for is really helpful!

Steve Good has an ornament stand in his Christmas stuff. Is that what you are looking for... a way to display a 3-D ornament by itself?
