I have bought it at Tractor Supply and Northern Tool, don't know if you have either of those nearby.

If neither of Mike's suggestions pan out you might want to check with a nearby welding supply house.:wsmile:

Sorry Joe - the largest diameter brass rod that I have is 1/8". I've got some 3/16" metal brazing rod if that would be of use...

Just adding to the list of possibles: call local machine shops. They often have small pieces of various metals as drops.

Ive bought small amounts of Delrin, polycarb, cold-rolled, angle, plate, U-channel and brass... this way.

I picked up some short pieces today at Woodcraft.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and Mark; where is a machine shop in our area. The one I know of in F-V has apparently closed. Across from the old Belk.
I need a spindle shaft straightened.

I've used Hamilton Machine Works..easy to deal with for small jobs.

I've also used...hmmm..Yates Machine Works. They (he) has a Fuquay address, but if it's the guy I'm thinking of, he's a looooong way outside of Fuquay.
