I wish it had been possible for me to spend some time with all of you, as it was I got to say hello to only a few. My mobility was greatly impaired this past couple of weeks due to knee, hip, and back problems; I'm falling apart! There wasn't anybody to really watch my setup if I left it, but I managed a quick tour of the show on Saturday afternoon as people were starting to knock down their displays. All in all, I'd say the show was a great success judging from the number of attendees. Looking forward to next year as I got to see so many old friends that stopped by my spot, and new friends I made this year!

Bruce, it was just good to see you there again this year, regardless of how much time you could visit with us in the back corner. We appreciate seeing you here each year and hope you continue to grace us at this venue in your back yard. Glad that your still going strong if not as energetic as in past years. Happens to us all, but keep on keepin' on.

Great to meet everyone on Friday. I came home exhausted, but I had a lot of fun.
Here's a picture I took on Friday of our setup

Ok guys, finally got through all of the craziness of this year's Extravaganza.

Few takeaways and thoughts moving forward.

1. Attendance for the show was down just a tick - especially Saturday - which I found interesting. Cold Monsoon Rain all day Friday and the crowds appeared and it was crazy busy. Saturday - rains stopped and attendance dropped some. Several reasons I feel and most we can't fight. One in particular was Lincolnton Apple Festival - moved to this date due to Hurricane in Sept. Go figure!
2. NCWWR.net booth was as busy as I've ever seen it. One thing that warms my heart. The tons of kids stepping up to the lathes and wondering can I really do this? Love it! Love watching adults try their hand a scrolling and marquetry as well. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN. Volunteers from NCWWR.net - THANK YOU!
3. Some of you are famous - picture attached - I hope. This was in Sunday's Hickory Daily Record 5bd481884ef26.image.jpg
4. We are thinking of mixing it up some next year. I have tons of ideas but I wanted to open it up to one of my favorite groups to help with the ideas. Now I think we will keep this off of the site but if you that have great ideas for shows and want to add your ideas to my list, please email me at cfourshee@woodworkingshop.com and if we incorporate the idea, I will give a gift card of $100 to you or the club - your choosing for your participation.

As always I enjoy seeing each of you and thank you again for your help in this endeavor - almost impossible to pull off without your participation.

Here are photos sent to me by Dirk (golfdad) for a little editing and enhancement before uploading o NCWW.net. I could not upload yesterday because of the aforementioned flaky condition of the site. Many thanks to Dirk. By the way, thanks to Coleman for providing a link to the wonderful Hickory Daily Record photo of Dirk. Now I know why I have several spare boxes of light saber blanks in my shop.

The flaky demon is setting on my shoulder tonight and I cannot get the pics to post correctly. Will work on this tomorrow.
