My 1st attempt at a hollow form. It was a bit of trail and error and the inside could use some work. A catch threw it completely off the lathe toward the end (you can see where it hit the tool rest on the top lip).Claro Walnut 3" high, 7 3/4 wide with the opening 3". This and all my turnings so far have been done with Easy Wood tools plus a couple of scrapers. I plan to get a skew and bowl gouge next month, maybe even get a bit of instruction at one of the local classes, I hear they skew esp. can be trouble if not handled correctly. Thanks for looking.

Turned out great, next you will be doing segmented.
Tony

Segmented pieces look so good, I have been looking around on the net a bit. Maybe should pick up a book or two. Next will probably attempt a peppermill, thinking of layering walnut and cherry to see how it "turns" out.
