My brother moved into a new house and needed to build a workbench for the back wall. 12 feet long x 30 inches deep and sturdy. Here is what we ended up with. Bought 2'x 8" southern yellow pine at the orange box store, ripped them in half, did 3 @ 7 board glue ups. Ran each group through the planer then glued the 3 section up. Took the 3-1/8" thick 250 pound top to Mark Kegler and sanded it on his 37" wide belt. The legs are made of 2 pieces of 3"x 1.5" syp glued up, leaving spaces for the top and bottom horizontal pieces. If you are bored you can take a look at the video I posted on my YouTube channel of the build.

Definitely looks sturdy. Will he add a vise or any other accessories? Lots of room for tool cabinets on the back wall.

Nice work there, Tom! (May be a permanent fixture in that spot for a few decades.)
