As some may have seen I've asked about the Rikon bandsaw last week.I'm really undecided in general as to the brand.I don't want to have to upgrade bandsaws again.I want this for the long haul.
So does anyone have experience with the Woodtek bandsaws? I'm eying the 17" because I got a sales flyer...
I recently saw this http://www.worksharptools.com/ in Workbench magazine and was wondering if it's as good as they claim. It's made by the same company that makes the Drill Doctor. For $200 it doesn't look too bad....Any comments, pro or con?
Thanks for any help,
Randy
Long story, bare with me. Built a big (10' long) plank top bench a few years ago from a plan I saw in ShopNotes. Now that the wood disease has got me bad, I realized I needed a more functional bench and more room for tools. I kind of thought my neighbor and good friend had his eye on it for a...
I have decided that it is time to get an air filter to help reduce the dust in my shop. I use a dust collector, but the fine dust that escapes it is starting to become a problem. I have noticed that I am getting more frequent sinus infections, and my wife says I snore more than I used to...
This pic is the latest shot of my new shop addition. I've decided to put a porch on the left side. The right addition is 14 ft and the porch will be 10 ft. Which would look better, to tie the porch roof in at the same height as the right side or use the same slope and tie in lower?
I have mixed feelings about this one.

I've been given a little grief by a couple members because I haven't shown any projects in the last couple of weeks. That is because I have been working on this. I started it last weekend and unfortunitely didn't get as far as I hope to be able to post any good pics. Today I completed the last...
While doing some mindless surfing on the web, I came across this package deal at Tool King. It looks to be a pretty good bargain, but I'd like to hear my fellow members' opinions on the saw and this deal. Total freight costs would be $87 including liftgate fee for residential delivery. If you...
I've searched and only found 1 reference to this sander in the North Carolina Woodworker'r forums. I'm needing a more manly sander (Mary Ann says I'm compensating for anatomic deficiencies(hair loss...yeah...that's the ticket) ) and this one and the Festool Rotex have the ability to become...
I am looking to buy a new router and a router lift. I want one of the big routers (3-3 1/4 HP). If you would be willing to share some thoughts, I have a few questions.
1. What router do you own/use?
2. Would you buy it again?
3. What features do you like and dislike?
4. What router lift...
I received the flyer from WC the other day and there is a CMT tenon cutting bit advertised for $99.99. It comes with "four stackable slot cutters, an assortment of spacers and shims and a 1/2" shank arbor." Anyone use one of these? Any opinons good or bad?
Thanks,
Doug
Does anyone here own and use the newer Hitachi M12V2 3-1/4 router? I'd like to know if it is suited for use in a router table. It is on sale at Amazon.com today for $159.99 with free shipping. Since I don't have a lift, I am concerned how easer/difficult height adjustment is in a table.

I need to get a good sharpening jig for my lathe chisels. I have seen and used the Wolverine system and like it. But today looking through the PSI catalog I saw their version of the jig.

and the Oneway Wolverine jig
I can get the...
I'm in the market for a reasonably priced moisture meter (obviously for the wood I want to use in projects).
Found this on eBay and was wondering if anyone out here has one like this and if so what you think about it.

Or, do you have another moisture meter? What are...
Hey guys & gals,
I was wondering if anyone owned the Woodstock Jointer Pal and if so how good does it work? Would you buy it again?
I just got my knives sharpened and need to reinstall them ... but from what I've read they're a pain.

Hey guys. I was wanting to get some opinions on a few small jointers. Namely the Delta 6 1/8 and Rigid 6 1/8 locally available at Lowes and Home Deopt. Or any other info on a decent 300$ jointer.
While I dream of the day that I get to buy a more serious tablesaw, I currently own a Ryobi BT3000. While it has its limitations, it has been very useful over the last six years. Of course, it cannot really take advantage of a lot of jigs and such that rely on the miter slots in standard...
I would like to know what people think about Harbor Freight. What is your experience with the quality of their powertools? Handtools? Etc....
I look forward to reading your comments.:eusa_danc
