Looking for a a wood selection to complement lacewood veneer work

Working on a commission piece for someone who wants the panels veneered with lacewood. I don't want to do the edges of the top or any of the trim in lacewood as it would be way too much, so I'm looking for a combination to match well. Final finish will be dark, if not ebonized, so long as...

WIP: Wenge and Lacewood Table

I was commanded....er commisioned by SWMBO to build a pair of small tables for the beach house and this is the start of the first one. It's my first experience with wenge. If you guys want to see if your tools really are sharp, get a hunk of this stuff and start gnawing on it. Man it's tough...

Lacewood Top on Maple Box

Lacewood

Has anyone ever used any Lacewood? I just bought some from Steve Wall. What kind of finish works well on it (it's too expensive to experiment on)? I plan to use it as a top on a demilune table. The legs and rails will be walnut.
