I really like the idea of the Japanese saw. The concept of the very thin kerf, cutting on pulling strike just seems more intuitive to me. I also like the idea of blades that are cheap, ready to use out of sleeve, and don't need a lot of maintenance. But the reality is I just can't cut...

Kinda wierd hickory ID question

I have access to a small woodlot, about 12 acres, and I'd like to find a Hickory tree on it. Whether there are ANY hickorys on it or not, frankly, I have no idea. Problem is, except for spotting shagbark hickorys in the woods when I lived "up north", I don't know as though I could recognise...
