Carvers take note - butternut on sale

I was at the Raleigh Kligspor store yesterday and they had a bunch of nice butternut chunks. I am talking 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 up to 3 feet in length. Someone could carve a bunch of neat things out of those chunks. The prices were by the chunk and looked reasonable.

Butternut Bandsaw Box

Bandsaw box made from butternut, front carved with handtools. Finished with seven coats of wipe-on poly. Based on a design by Arthur Espenet Carpenter.
