Radial Arm Saw.

I have just come into possession of a 10" radial arm saw. It does not work. The motor tries to run but doesn't turn and often trips the circuit breaker. I'd like to either get rid of it or find someone who can repair it for a modest sum. I would prefer to fix it as I have a use for it, but...

Which sawblade for plywood and radial arm saw?

Ok, here is the situation. Need to make a big bookcase out of about 12 sheets of mahogany plywood. 8 of those sheets are 3/4". May make a 2nd one too. Lots and lots of ripping and crosscutting involved. Going to use a 30+ year old craftsman 12" radial arm saw. The saw is tuned up and tight...

Radial arm saw question please

I have a radial arm saw, Sears Craftman with 10 inch blade. I also have a Ridgid 10 inch table saw. I purchased my ras used from a friend. The blade appears to be dull now because the cut isn't sharp and clean. I now understand that I will need a certain blade or it will be dangerous to use...

Radial arm saw motor

So I had my friend who works at a motor shop check on the cost of converting to the optional 3hp, single phase 220V motor for my "new" radial arm saw to avoid the 3 phase issue. His cost with discounts is $1500!!! On a saw that retails for $3k. Oh well... I guess I'm either going to have to...
