Free Billboard Display

Highway Art Billboard of Wilmington provides free digital billboard space for artists. This one is in Leland near Walgreens on Rt. 17. It is also displayed at their Hampstead location until November 30. https://sites.google.com/view/highwayart

I just completed this "Life's Journey" project using several types of woods including wenge, aspen, red heart, yellow heart, basswood, and sapele. Judy Gale Roberts pattern.

Scrolling Material

I use red oak, poplar, or pine from Lowes for most of my scrolling. For intarsia I spend some $$ for hardwoods here in Wilmington or just cut all my pieces from poplar and paint them with acrylics, depending on the project. I usually cut from the original 3/4" stock or in some cases like a few...

Intarsia Gray Humpback Whale and Calf with Hawaiian Backdrop

Whales cut from poplar. The backdrop is birch plywood. Spray and brush-on acrylic paints. The whales can be removed from the backdrop for hanging by themselves.
