I finally finished the Federal-style card table I've been working on for some time. This has been a fascinating journey. Learned a lot of new skills and made/acquired several new tools along the way. I've posted a couple of times when it was still a work in progress. Here is the finished table.

Outstanding work. Definitely an inspiration.
Is that a veneered face on the front skirt? Or a solid stock piece? beautiful.

Thanks for all the generous comments. I realized after the post that I should have provided a bit more description -- especially to a group of fellow woodworkers! The table top and legs are cherry. The aprons are veneered with sections of figured walnut. The cockbeading that runs around the bottom of the aprons is also cherry. Holly, walnut and maple are used in the inlay work. The secondary wood is Southern Yellow Pine that was salvaged from an old house. It is quarter-sawn, tight-trained and has been drying for over a century so it's very stable. I wanted that for the aprons since the grain of the veneer is at a right angle to the grain of the substrate.

What technique did you use to get the curves on the aprons?

I'll be honest, I don't like the style, but WOW, stunning craftsmanship. The inlays on the legs really emphasize the taper, very impressive.
