Since this vac uses (optionally) bags that are several dollars each, I added a $1 pickle bucket and cyclone lid to convert it to 2-stage. I used the old 2.5 hose to connect the vac to the lid and cans switch between the expandable 2.5 hose and a 1.5 hose depending on the application. I use this with hand-held power tools and my miter saw. I use my HF DC for everything else. I have another knockaround shop vac for wet and other nasty clean up so this can be dedicated for wood working.
