Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
I'll be there. They also have a bunch of returned and/or damaged merchandise heavily discounted, but for that stuff it is as is, cash only. I hope to see some NCwoodworkers there.

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
You better believe I'll be there. I go whenever I can. The scrap junk bins are the most fun. I've picked up things I'll probably never need, but at super cheap prices!
Anyone care to set a rough time to meet on saturday?
Maybe wear a paper pirate hat?

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
Free food?!! Where's Graham located? (Of course free beer would get a lot more interest)

I am not familiar of the brand of beer of which you speak? What is this "Free Beer"?
Anything like freedome fries?

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
I hope to make it Friday AM. As Amy suggested the return/damage/discontinued stuff often contains great finds . . . but the good stuff goes fast. There's usually a lot of hardware and odds and ends, but few power tools. Vendors tend to set up later in the morning/afternoon so there's no rush for new stuff.

I heard that Klingspor's Woodworking Shop has the x5 unisaw with a 52" beis. fence for $1,699.00. Plus I think that there is a $250.00 mail in through the end of the month. What a deal.

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
For the ones who went this morning, was there anything of interest? Any good sale items or gloats?

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
Yep! Just ask Amy . . . she covered the place with a fine tooth comb
A few interesting power tools in the return/refurb area. Several mid-sized Woodtek planers, dust collectors, 1" belt belt sanders, and air filters (minus the remotes). The usual mishmash of sandpaper, hardware, etc. with excellent prices.
Steel City rep (Curt) has an outside tent along with the usual gang of Bosch, Delta (and affiliates). I like the Steel City stuff, though current stock is limited and only a few of their products are discounted. I encourage anyone who goes to chat with Curt and talk up NCWWer . . . I did
Also found the pricing on their workbench tempting . . . single vise, 3/4" hardwood top, 20x70" is $169 minus $10 coupon for purchase over $100.
Regretfully for me, new truck tires trumped tool purchases this month
FWIW, go and enjoy! It's always fun to rap with the reps. One of the big name vendor reps hadn't heard of Steel City

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
Oh boy, I was over there about 1pm today (Saturday). Can we say score?
They were glad to sell anything they didn't have to put back on the shelves.
I got a $130 two way vice for $5. A box, yes box full of Kreg bandsaw resaw guides for $5. A bag of about 20 quick vise 90 degree jaws for $1.
The biggest score? For $1 per box of two, I got 5 boxes of precision mitre rail extentions. A few were 3', the rest 5'.
A few other things.
For a truck full of stuff I spent $35 bucks.
Oh happy day!

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
Okay, i'm blind. Where were all of these deals? Were they under the tent by the loading docks? I didn't make it over there until the end, then only scanned that area briefly on the way to get my daughter some food before she passed out.

Re: Woodworker's Supply Big Spring Store-only Sale
I bought more than I should have. Thank goodness I can use this as Mother's Day and my birthday (next month). I got a grinding/carving set for $5 that didn't work. I took it home, opened it up, and the switch had come off the circuit board. I resoldered it and it works great! I got a Douzuki dovetail saw with a broken blade for $2 (and already ordered a replacement blade). I got a Woodtek sharpening machine for $25. I got a remote control air cleaner for $115. Plus I got lots of carving tools that were discontinued (mainly Flexcut). Here is a picture just to prove that it happened.
