Re: You have $1,000 to spend on a table saw ...

I got a Grizzly 0715 table saw from the original owner. Got it as a compliment to my sliding table saw. Fine machine with adequate power. Used mostly for joinery purposes, such as dado cutting, ripping, and other cuts. The motor can run on either 110 or 240 power; have to change a couple of wires in the motor to make the change. It came to me as a 240 machine and I kept it that way. Check the Grizzly site; I believe the current price is around $825 or so, not including shipping. While not a professional grade cabinet saw as seen in pro shops, it does well for my uses.

All things considered, that is still a pretty good deal....and it looks like most of the stuff in the auction is pretty well taken care. If I were in the market, I would definitely give this one a close look, especially with all the extras (if you can use them).
If I were in the market this would already be in my shop. the asking price is a bargain!

Hey, when you are right you absolutely should disagree. (Though Ridgid breakdown diagram is a terrible thing to make heads or tails out of.)

I am curious as to whether they made that change when they switched to granite tops as the cast iron top Orion hybrid tablesaw designs were originally cabinet mounted for their hybrid saws and was actually a selling point originally. My Steel City hybrid cabinet saw (circa 2008) uses a cabinet mounted trunnion assembly.

    Where can you see that?

I've had a good look around the site but don't see it anywhere.

Looks like a popular item - bidding is currently up to $900, asking $925.

I expect it's going to be way over that before the auction closes, with the premium, tax, delivery.

A bit too rich for me.

I think when they list the asking price they are just setting the amount needed for the next bid. Meaning if the asking price is 900 and I bid 900 the next asking price is 925, correct me if I am wrong.

So right now, I'm thinking long term.

Spend $1,500 (or more), use the saw for 10-15 years, then sell it for a reasonable price, buy a couple of cases of good scotch, sit back and enjoy.

Did you say SCOTCH? I will be right over! The only decent drink in the world!

Re: You have $1,000 to spend on a table saw ...

The Unisaw auction closed at $1,650.

    https://lelandlittle.com/l/delta-10-.../465/lot/4003/

With buyer's premium and sales tax, that puts it over $2,000.
Probably a good buy if you want/need all the extras but it does seem a little on the high side to me.

Re: You have $1,000 to spend on a table saw ...

I am currently looking at this Grizzly: http://www.grizzly.com/products/10-5...-Saw/G1023RLWX

It's more than I want to spend at around $1,750 with tax and shipping, but it's significantly cheaper than a Delta and seems to be well spec'ed.

I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between the G1023 and G069x series; the latter series is obviously superior, but it's not immediately apparent why.
