Woodmaster
I'm thinking about buying a woodmaster planer to make some 10" wide oak flooring for a customer.Does anyone have any opinions on the woodmaster? I have been looking on the web and so far everything I have seen has been good.

Re: Woodmaster
I used to have a Woodmaster 18" and it was a decent machine. It did the job, though the planer never gave a "great" finish like my planer now does. What I liked best was how accessible it was. What I liked least was the "light weight" of it (a lot less cast iron than others in that size range, and more sheet metal).
Overall though, I was happy with it. Maybe 6/10 on my scale.

Re: Woodmaster
Yes I will be kerfing this floor .It is going to be screwed and pegged so cupping should not be a problem.

Re: Woodmaster
I have a woodmaster 718. I've owned it now for atleast 2+ years. I just recently installed a spiral cutter head on her. Man what a difference. Glass smooth now.
I believe you can order them with the spiral heads now.
I like mine allot.
However like Jeremy stated a bit on the light side. But I don't find that as being harmful, just differentLong ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it's called golf.
