Box Elder Maple tree freshly cut- free. Heralding from Elizabeth City, NC

A fellow contacted me towards the latter part of last week telling me about this Box Elder that he just cut down, he wants to give it away. Said, "I hate to throw such a beautiful piece of wood away" He resides in the Elizabeth City NC locale.

I can provide you with his email address if you are interested.

I wish I was closer. Your friend will have NO trouble selling that tree. More commonly known as flame box elder.

I wish at times I was closer to the coast, BTW, how big is the diameter on those pieces.

I just discovered tonight that the picture above was actually just a limb of this larger tree that was cut down. The tree itself is approximately 2-3' in diameter and he has 4 more he will be cutting down soon.

    Chris,
I get out to New Bern to visit my neighbors parents. How far north of NB are you? If he has some bigger pieces coming in the future I would like to touch base with you and try to get my hands on some. Flamed Box Elder is my favorite turning wood. Let me know if it is not all claimed and we can maybe setup a weekend to get together.
