    free small pecan logs

I have a pecan which was blown over 1 1/2 years ago by one of the hurricanes (Irene?). It was mowed by a bush hog about 30 years ago and came back up in 5 shoots. In spite of being on the ground so long it's still alive and had nuts last summer. I've got to clean it up and it will all be firewood but I thought I would offer the bigger trunk logs for free if anyone can use them.

The logs are only about 5' - 6' long. 2 are about 11" -12" on the stump and 9" - 10" at the other end. There are maybe 2 more logs that about 2" smaller diameter than the others.

The logs are green and free. I'm hoping maybe one of you chair builders might be able to use them. I'm 35 miles east of Raleigh in western Nash Co.

If it's not used for woodworking, it makes great wood in a smoker and/or BBQ pit.

Yeah, my grill is right by another pecan tree. Every time we cook chicken or pork we add a few twigs to the coals. I've also got a bowl full of rings I cut from small pecan limbs for the same purpose.

I'd consider it but I'm having enough trouble drying the maple I saved from our tree. I'm going to have to buy some Anchorseal.
