Java update on my Mac
Type of Help Needed: ProblemWhere: OtherHelp Desk Status: Open
I tried unsuccessfully to log into the chat room the other night when Steve was the guest speaker. Did exactly what Steve Honeycutt said not to do....wait until time to use it before checking it out
I discussed this problem briefly w/ Steve Coles and his thought was I needed to update my software. Well, there are no updates to be had since the last auto update. I've tried the Java site and it links to the Mac page which instructs a software upgrade. I am getting nowhere. Do any of you Mac users have a solution or suggestion?
Steve, I know you are covered up so leave this to somebody else

Re: Java update on my Mac
Click on the apple in the top left corner of your screen and then "About this Mac"
What is the Mac OS X version Number?
Processor?
With that info we can determine which version you can upgrade to.
I am on 10.4.11 and chat works fine. Most people who are into preparedness, didn't get there because it makes sense. They got there because they suffered and chose not to suffer again.

Also in Safari check preferences and then under security.
check mark next to Enable Java and Enable JavaScript. Most people who are into preparedness, didn't get there because it makes sense. They got there because they suffered and chose not to suffer again.

Re: Java update on my Mac
BINGO!
I run 10.5.8 and had updated the latest version of Java beforehand. I downloaded another upgrade and when I tried to install it told me I had a newer version & did I still want to upload it.
I'm going to try your above conclusion now and hope it solves the issue. If not I'll be back soon
