Re: What's going on with visits per week count?
To make sure I say this right.. You log-in Mon., and do not log off and leave your computer on and browse running.. Tue. you do not use the computer, Wed. you do. Thr. Fri. and Sat. you do not. Sun you do.. 7 days 3 uses you visited 3 times.. Now as i said If you are using Firefox after X amout of time the site will log you out.. But when you click on (What's new) Firefox will send a command to log you back in and reload the screen.. My Computer stands on 24/7/365 and Firefox is running the hole time.. My Visit's are 6.61 / week.. If I miss one or two day it will lower my visit's..
Steve I hope I said this right??
Hope this helped!!

Re: What's going on with visits per week count?
2 in theory.
One thing to remember in this case, is that you are not really logged in for that whole time. 15 minutes after you selected your last page, your session times out. Your are considered logged out. The next after that when you try to get access, the server will ty to read a session cookie. If it finds one, it will see that it has timed out, but will first check to see if "remember me" was checked. If it was, vBulletin will log you back in "under the covers".

Re: What's going on with visits per week count?
So the "remember me" is the secret. I open using favorites and am automatically logged in. Later, I leave site, and then shut computer down, including turning off power strip. Computer isn't repowered until next visit, usually the next day. Seldom does a day pass that I don't visit site. I'm not worried about numbers, except they don't actually reflect activity.

Re: What's going on with visits per week count?
"Remember Me" is the key *if* your browser is not configured to erase all cookies whenever you close your browser. This behavior is a configurable privacy setting for your web browser and some web browsers will even allow you to override the configured setting for select domains if properly configured (e.g. some will allow you to delete all cookies *except* for specific domains if configured to do so). It will all depend upon how your web browser's privacy settings are configured.
If your browser is configured to erase all cookies, then "Remember Me" will not help you when you restart the PC/browser at a later time because the session cookie needed for this site to track your previous session will have also been erased.
On the other hand, if your browser is not setup to erase all cookies upon shutdown, then "Remember Me" will spare you from having to log in each time you visit NCWW provided you don't explicitly click the "Log Out" link (in the upper right-hand corner of your screen).
I did want to make sure you were aware of this caveat because we have no way of knowing how your web browser's privacy settings have been configured and they play a large role in determining the effectiveness of the "Remember Me" setting. Nonetheless, the "Remember Me" setting is still a valuable option to enable each time you login (on a computer *you* own -- don't use this option if using a public kiosk PC) if only to keep your login from expiring if you are inactive for more than 15-30 minutes (such as when composing a reply).
