Spring donation drive is underway!
The SPRING DONATION DRIVE IS UNDERWAY ~
Hello all. It is Spring - at least in the hearts of NCWoodworker.net!~
It is time for our annual Spring Donation Drive.
This IS a vitally important event to this site.
This event brings in dollars necessary to operate the site, AND
meets the requirements of maintaining our non-profit status.
ALL donations are appreciated and needed.
Without the support of our members this site can not continue to grow
and operate. Financial support is as important as any aspect of support we
receive.
Your staff, is totally volunteer. Not one staff person is paid for their efforts,
their time, or their commitment. I can not imagine what the personnel costs
would be if we had to pay for the hours that are given to keep this site going!
PLEASE, take a moment, consider what this site means to you.
Determine what you are able to contribute, and click the link to
make your donation. Our team of computer gurus have made it as
easy as possible and are open to suggestions!
WE ARE a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Your contributions can be counted just as
any contribution to a non-profit. Check with your employer. Many
companies will match charitable contributions! You could DOUBLE
your contribution, simply by checking.
This truly is OUR site. We are the members, we decide if we are
interested enough to help operate it, we run for the board, we
elect our board, and we have to pay for the operation.
We hope you will continue to support this site in the many ways we
see our members doing. But, don't forget that "someone" has to
bring in the money to pay the bills. That someone is us!
As of right now, there are 6,082 registered users to this site.
Our goal for this donation drive is $2000. We hope to surpass
this goal QUICKLY! It is our site, it is our need. Let's work
together to attain this goal.

Re: Spring donation drive is underway!
Thanks for asking. I'm not sure, but if we do the donations would have to be cash or checks. I'm sure we won't be able to process credit cards at the show.

Re: Spring donation drive is underway!
Well, it seems to have taken my donation and I got the nice letter from Otto. The barometer didn't move, but it probably isn't that dynamic.

Ah so, now it all makes sense.
The thing that holds up all my woodworking is simply getting started.

Re: Spring donation drive is underway!
The Donation Drive total is growing - more slowly but still going!
I can't help but notice the total is inching its way up...
Thank you to everyone that has made a donation. We depend
on our members to fund this site. There are no dues, registration
fees, etc. We come to our members twice a year, Spring and Fall
and ask for a donation to keep the site running. WE ALWAYS ACCEPT DONATIONS - but as part of the structural requirements for our
non-profit status, we are restricted to how many times we can ASK for donations, and how we go about it.
Your staff does a pretty impressive job of administering to the needs
of the site and are good stewards of the finances of the organization.
Almost all work is done for free. Still we find we have to pay things
like attorney fees, accounting fees, but your staff works for free and
out of dedication to the site.
As the donation total grows, I keep tabs on the membership.
In the short time of this donation drive, we have 35 newly
registered members. This is respectable growth and
is fairly consistent throughout the year.
We get a lot of questions about donations, income, advertisers etc.
There are those whowould love to get rid of some of the non-wood advertisers. I think MOST would. BUT - the fact is we need their
dollars to keep the site going. IF- we could depend on member
contributions we might be able to get rid of some, most, or all of
the non-woodworking ads.
Consider showing YOUR support for the site and sending a message
through your dollars that you are willing to support the site without
the non-wood working ads!
Either way, your staff will continue to do the very best possible.

Re: Spring donation drive is underway!
Looks like the total is still (slowly) moving up.
How long does this donation drive run?“I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.” - Richard M. Nixon
