Positive vendor review
Just FYI. I ordered 2 Norton grinding wheels from Sharpening Supplies.com this week. They had the lowest price I could find on the web, even after including shipping. Once I placed the order, they were very good about keeping me updated on the status. The order arrived this morning, almost exactly 48 hours after I placed it. This was the first time I've used this vendor and overall, it was a very positive experience.

BillI'll gladly tell you how I do something. Just please don't confuse that with the right way to do it, and almost certainly not the only way..gif)

Re: Positive vendor review
And I'm happy to say, that all of our advertisers are good vendors in my experience as well.
No intent to hijack the thread, it just struck me that we hardly point out the great service, but accept it as normal.Always be yourself because the people that matter don't mind, and the ones who mind, don't matter.

Re: Positive vendor review
And in that vein, let me take the time to give a thanks to another supplier on here. I live sorta close to, 15-20 minutes away anyway, from Rick at The Woodworking Source. I'd never been in there, but had spoken with him on the phone. The other day I was in Mooresville and on that side so I just stopped in to satisfy my curiosity. Even though I was just "stopping by" Rick took the time to show me his store area and chat a bit. Met the mailman while I was there too. Very friendly and congenial folks there and man oh man what a place. I was impressed. Nice toys that man has in there.
Thanks Rick!!

Re: Positive vendor review
Don't worry about hijacking this thread: definitely not a problem. I got good service from a vendor and thought, "Why not share my experience w/ everyone?" Too often we're quick to share a bad experience, so I thought I would make amends by sharing a positive one. I'm glad to see others jumping in w/ positive experiences on other vendors, ESPECIALLY those who help sponsor this site.

Hmmmmm! Wonder if there is a way we could have a forum that provides an objective rating of vendors, w/ both positive and negative reviews? Might be a good "service" for other members to have. Kinda like the 5 star system used on Amazon or other sites.

Re: Positive vendor review
In this vein, I once was behind a truck and the driver was great. He/She was very courteous to everyone in his vicinity, didn't get too close to slow cars ahead, always used turn signals, etc. So, I looked on the back of the truck and called the "How's my Driving?" number listed as they often have.
Once connected, the gentleman on the phone asked me what my complaint was and I responded that I had none, but was calling to commend the driver and leave a compliment. The representative balked at this, and didn't know what to do. He said that they didn't really take compliments, just complaints.
Whatcha gonna do? I guess the drivers have the decks stacked against them from the beginning with that company....

At least I tried, right?

Re: Positive vendor review
Ben, I do the same when I am impressed by performance. I often call the company and ask for the owner or manager and tell them I would like to talk to them about one of their employees. When my comment is positive, the phone goes silent for some time, then they say they were expecting complaints. Usually follow with the comment "you have just made my day".
